Ben day 19 vs random and will’s mom

Starting to get worried that I might get promoted into a season of pain in c next time.

1 :( skulls. I had horses and erased it.
2 :) crazy rich Asians. NPR always talks about this movie. I wanna see it.
3 :( Clytemnestra. Sorta close.
4 :) North. Never heard of him. Got it from the civil war. Can't believe I got his right.
5 :) molasses. What else could it be?
6 :)Macarena. I thought about which songs were popular in year 10 and this was all I came up with. I thought this was a band called Los Del Rios or something like that.

Seif Day 19 vs. Jesse (LLL)

2/6, and lucky to get that. These were collectively very hard for me. Also upset about my D now that I see the answers.

1. Fruit :(, D12. Nope!

2. Gosford Park :(, D31. Wish I'd thought of Crazy Rich Asians, but I really had no clue. If I'd known it was a popular movie out now, I never would have given it D3.

3. Margaret :(, D23. I'm familiar with the story, but I had no idea who the character was.

4. North :), D01. I knew who the PM was. It took me about 15 minutes after answering this to realize the question was referring to "north" in the Civil War.

5. Molasses :), D10. Had no idea about anything in the question, but when I thought of dark brown, thick, and sugary, this was my only guess, especially since maple syrup couldn't fit the clue.

6. The Sign :(, D22. No clue. I don't remember this even though I was a teenager.

Gideon Day 18 vs Brian

4/6 today

1 :( D2/2 Johnson - On a recent episode of the Bugle they joked that “the current political lifespan of an Australian leader is about the same as a moth with a candle fetish.”  “People are asking in the wake of this news ‘Who is Scott Morrison?’ And the important thing to remember about Scott Morrison is that you do not have to remember Scott Morrison. He will be gone within months, to be replaced by another indistinguishable man in a suit, with flexible ethics and a penchant for treachery.”
I took their word for it and did not remember Scott Morrison.
http://thebuglepodcast.com/ episode 4079 @ 23minutes in.

2 :) D1/0 Toto
3 :) D1/3 Azerbaijan
4 :) D2/2 Barry Manilow - I know this song because of Homer Simpson.
5 :( D0/1 Nebulae
6 :) D3/1 Masada - Been there, done that. Took me much longer than I expected to remember the name.

Pelc Day 18 vs. Steiny

Been doing pretty well of late. 5/6 today.

1. :) - YEKIOYD that I was lucky enough to read about recently. D2/1
2. :) - Gimme for anyone who was ever a kid. D1/1
3. :( - Was on my short list but went with Krygistan (however you spell it). D1/2
4. :) - I actually thought this was harder than it appears it was. Poor D in LLL here. D0/3
5. :) - Good guess here D2/2
6. :) - Jimme (gimme for Jews) D3/0

7(5) - 4(3) win for me in LLL

Brian Day 18 vs Gideon

4/6.  I could get 9(6)ed today by Gideon, but probably not in LL proper.

1) Meghan Markle.  I knew they gave her a duchy, thought it might have been Australia. 1/1

2) Toto.  Gimme?  But had to defend high given the other categories. 2/2

3) Azerbaijan.  Hoping Gideon doesn't check and see that I got a Caspian Sea question correct recently.  I know where the Volga drains, I know Azerbaijan is sandwiched between the Black and the Caspian, and I read Prince Caspian.  1/3

4) Manilow.  Spent some time trying to remember who sang Brandy You're A Fine Girl, before I re-read the question and saw it was a #1 hit. Had to be Mandy.  Curious how this plays in the LLL. 2/2

5) nebula.  Ugh.  Dwarfs indicate galaxy, but I couldn't shake that the LMC was a nebula. Hopefully Gideon D0ed me after the Seveneves reference, the only reason I didn't D0 him is the next question.  0/1

6) Masada.  Gimme for the LLL.  My LL opponent knew neither shmaltz nor kreplach.  3/0
