 3/6 but a RTFQ on what is likely to be a 3 pointer will likely doom me today.  The misspelling on the (3rd of the season!!!) math question will likely have no effect whether it counts or not

1) Resonance 2/3  I had to think long and hard on this one, so hopefully it's difficult.  Thinking of the bridge that fell finally gave it to me

2) Arizona 3/2  No clue

3) Sonoma 1/2  no clue

4) Ukraine 1/1 no clue but figured this was a decent guess

5) Pythagoreas 2/1  Likely to be D0ed 

6) Conrad 0/0   RTFQ FML  Put the author instead of the title but knew Heart of Darkness was the basis for Apocalypse Now

My by far best-ever season continued today with a 5/6, 4 of which I was certain about. 

1. Resonance :), D12. Really curious to see how this one plays. I knew it from the first clue, but I would have found it tricky even with all the others combined. 

2. Arizona :(, D23. I had no idea. I wonder if this will play very hard or if this is just a gap in my knowledge. 

3. Yosemite :), D11. I had no idea so I just guessed the most obvious thing. Turned out that was it.

4. Ukraine :), D00. Seems like by far the most obvious guess, though I did remember the appointment and 2019 recall.

5. Pythagoros :), D22. Math gimme (spelling notwithstanding). 

6. Heart of Darkness :), D31. Not really in my wheelhouse, but I read (and disliked) this in 10th grade. I also knew the author was Polish-born.

David S Days 9 and 10

Did these about a week ago with advance access. 5/6 both days. This has been by far my best start to a LL season, which makes me worry I’m due for some very unfriendly questions. 

Day 9:

1. Bay :(, D30.  I had no idea.  Just took a random guess.

2. Interceptions :), D13.  About as much of a gimme as I get.

3. SWIFT :), D21.  I doubt I would have gotten this prior to the Russian sanction.

4. Kruschev :), D01.  Luckily spelling doesn't count.  I was pretty much certain on this one since he tried to De-Stalinize the country.

5. Millenium Prize :), D12.  I'm surprised this played as hard as it did.  Ever since Fermat's Last Theorem was solved, I've had a bit of an obsession with long-unsolved math puzzles.  So I was very familiar with these.

6. Scrub :), D12.  I'm somehow 3 for 3 on pop music so far this season.  Huge fluke.  But I am the perfect age for this question, and I also see it played easy.

Day 10:

1. Mississippi, Ohio :), D01.  I love this question.  I read an article a few years back about how depressed Cairo, Illinois is, so I knew about this city.  Otherwise I would have found it very tricky.  But I actually expected it to play a bit easier than it did.

2. University of Connecticut :), D10. I don't know much about women's (or men's) college basketball, but it seems like UConn wins the women's tournament year after year, so that was my best guess.

3. Deciduous :), D22.  Bad D here.  I didn't think this term would be all that well known, at least outside of the Eastern US.

4. Twelfth Night :), D22.  I've seen this play several times.  So no question for me here.

5. Les Desmoiselles :), D33.  Great get for me on an obscure art question (and again, thanks to spelling not counting).  This is another question I got because my kids like looking at pictures of famous paintings with me on my phone.

6. Kiwi :(, D11.  I had no idea.  I don't know much about bananas.

Re: Debbie Day 8, 9, 10

Day 10 - working my way back with a 3.  Had actually been in surprisingly good shape in C, but now heading back down where I probably belong

1. Nile, Cairo  :( not sure I knew there was another Cairo even if I sensed that might be what it was getting at 

2. U Conn :) assume that works. I know they are unparalleled womens bball team

3. deciduous :) figure if I know this, everyone must?

4. Twelfth Night :) I dont really know my Shakespeare but know this refers to a holiday of some sort

5. Le Danseur :( never heard of the real one 

6. apple :( was thinking WIlliam Tell / the shooting the apple off the head story

Day 9 - oy 2

1. bay  :(. what on earth is a lake that's also a pigment?  hardly anyone knows - except my opponent

2. sacks :( thought I might have had it but nope

3. wrong answer :( nope

4. Khruschev :) lucky guess for me (and yes, it is a great song - as is scrubs, which has now been in my head for a couple days)

6. Scrub :( bummed that my mathy / sciency opponent got this and the 3 I gave it

Day 8 - ouch 1

1. Christmastime  :(. nope

2. Vin Diesel :( wrong action series

3. Henry James :( thought there might be other James's

4. Voyager :( thought that would have been a good name for a shuttle. I guess it's just a Star Trek thing?

5. GErman Shepherd :) also thought of Alsace Lorraine so also considered French poodle but figured there would be a time peope didn't want to call something German

6. aluminum :( was only metal element I could think of
