Anywhere from 3 to 5 out of 6. Found defense hard due to my opponent's relatively similar scores across most categories. 

1. Queensland ?, D1. I interpreted this question as though it was written "the capital city of what state?" I actually think this is a reasonable interpretation, so I think this should be an acceptable answer, though I can understand others disagreeing. What are others' thoughts?

2. Canola :), D0. I cook enough to get this. D0 because food and drink is my opponent's strongest category. 

3. PJ Masks :(, D3. Picked a random show my 4-year-old watches and hoped for the best. No dice. 

4. Philharmonic :), D1. Didn't see what else this could be. Learned some interesting history, too. 

5. Orion's Belt ?, D2. Looks like this is not exactly the same thing as Orion, so could go either way. I have no cause for complaint if it's marked wrong. 

6. Associated Press :), D2. Like #4, didn't see what else this could be and also learned some history.

​3/6.  Poor defense is going to cost me, i foresee losing 6(3)-2(3).

1) Al-Husseini.  I've read numerous articles about Hariri, but the name didn't stick.  I think (hope) most people will have that issue. D2

2) Rochester.  If not for reading the wiki article on the Erie Canal last week after I wrote Erie River, I would have said Buffalo. Opponent's strong in geography and lives in NY. D0

3)  Cheese.  Gimme once you change Charles to Chuck. D1

4) Chunnel. Face palm.  I had no idea, was thinking D Day staging or the Chunnel entry (off by several decades).  Going to regret D3. 

5) Hot toddy.  Knew this was whiskey but no other choice.  wasted a D1

6) proton.  An intentionally confusing question to get to a basic answer, I like it.    A mole of this particle weighs a gram, and it's positively charged, must be a proton.  Even wild guessers will get proton if they focus on the positive charge. Again, horrible defense.  D2

4/6, but left some on the table and not feeling too good given my opponent's strengths. 

1. Hariri :), D1. Current events gimme. 

2. Rochester :), D1. Really thought Rochester had more than 210k people, but it was clearly the only possibility. I think this is actually pretty hard, but D1 because my opponent is from a Toronto suburb, which means it should be easy for him.

3. Pants :(, D3. I can't believe I didn't pick up on this, and I can't believe I thought it was so hard it was worth a D3. 

4. Heathrow :), D2. Only possibility it seemed. 

5. Hogwash :(, D2. Ugh. I knew there was an "og" sound but couldn't quite come up with the word. 

6. Proton :), D0. Science gimme if you can get past all the "extras" in the clue.

Should be a 5/6, but could slip to a 2 depending how nitpicky the scoring is.  

1) Relativism.  Almost wrote The Force. I don't even know if relativism is a thing. D3

2) New York Marathon.  Might get dinged for the lack of City.  This one took me forever, and was obvious once I got it.  Figured not to be an election, given number five was a politics question. I tried sports, knew it couldn't be tennis or golf or auto racing, so I shifted into the sciences.  Was pretty sure the Fields was won by the Iranian who died, which left me with a wild guess on a random Nobel. I almost wrote Kessel Run (I'm getting pumped for next week!).  Then track popped into my head.  I hope I get credit for all my hard work.  D1

3) coaxial.  I assume i'll get credit despite leaving out cable, but I've got to watch the sloppiness.  A gimme if you've done any wiring. D2

4) Maine.   Again,a bit worried about leaving out the USS, especially since this is one of the easier questions in a weak category for me. D2    

5) Catalonia. Almost blew this by writing Catalina. Mouse was hovering over submit when I caught it.  Not enough coffee today. Should be a high current events get rate. D1

6) Soap.  Gimme for me.  Not sure how this will play, but I think it was MCW for the Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman question last season so should be a decent rate.  D0
