All right-thinking people are aware that gradients are vectors, to first be learned in multivariable calculus and never earlier in algebra before young minds can comprehend them. A gradient can certainly not be represented by 'm' in y=mx+b, where it is clearly a scalar number. Perhaps you should concentrate on learning the standard energy unit of the crown, the esteemed and imperial British Thermal Unit.
