Yes I have been slack in posting, but seeing as I was playing Seif I decided to show up.
A strong 5/6 showing for the occasion, and several questions that delightfully played to Seif's weaknesses.
1 :) theta. gimme
2 :( juxtaposition. couldnt' see how it fit light dark, but had nothing else. answer seems unfamiliar to me, but made me want to eat at a Churascaria.
3 :) Partridge Family. We had this in Australia, and it came up in conversation on a work call yesterday!
4 :) Philly Cheese steak. Thorsten alluding to a 'home town' nudged me toward this, despite the cast that I thought there was some debate about its provenance.
5 :) Tokyo. I never realize that Tokyo was probably named after Tokugawa. I just knew Edo was former name.
6 :) Jaws. I got it mostly from ichthyologist, which I knew was either insects or fish. I never remember. The USS Indianapolis likely dated it to a blockbuster decades ago, and backed up the aquatic angle, and NY police chief locked it in. I just looked up insect study and see it is endomology, but I think there is another study which sounds like icthyology which has tripped me up in the past.

3/6 today. I think a lot of people might find today pretty easy, so I'm not feeling too good about it. It's been a rough start to the season for me in general.
1. Theta :), D00. Hard to think that anyone who went to an American college or is halfway decent in math could miss this. That certainly applies to both of my opponents (although my LL opponent is by no means halfway decent in math, and Ben didn't go to an American college).
2. Contrast :(, D33. Had no idea.
3. The Brady Bunch :(, D12. I felt kind of good about this, but nope!
4. Philly Cheese Steak :), D21. I was wondering why Thorsten would give the street address but not the city in the question. Then when I noticed "Wharton," it became clear.
5. Tokyo :), D11. A harder version of this question was in LL a few seasons ago. Still, I'm not sure how easy this actually is.

1) Theta. 2/2 This is a math question for me.
2) Chiaroscuro 3/0 This art question is actually a fantasy novel question for me, I almost certainly learned this as one of many vocabulary words from the works of Stephen R Donaldson.. I think he used it to describe how The Land was lit at twilight, it always stuck with me. I also learned loam, susurration, suzerainty and lapis lazuli from him.
3) The Partridge Family 2/3 Come on, get happy! Who didn't have a crush on Susan Dey?
4) (Philly) Cheesesteak 1/2. Wharton led me to Philly, I've been to both Pat's and Gino's (on the same day!), didn't see what else it could be. Wit wiz.

6) Jaws 1/2 I've only seen bits and pieces of the movie, but I've seen the scene where he describes the sharks eating the survivors of the Indianopolis, and ichthy- indicates fish.
