Hi everyone, happy LL103!

 

I was flying yesterday so completed the day but didn't post here. Lousy 3/6 which lost me my first ever match in Rundle B plus the Brian LLL matchup.

 

4/6 today which I don't think will be good enough.

 

1 : ( Quidditch. Like David S I ruled out Ice Hockey as I assumed the rings were smaller. D22

2 : ) Punic. Was going to say Phoenician until I remembered the Punic wars. D33

3 : ) Roti. Our local Indian restaurant is the Roti Grill. D21

4 : ( Dia de los Muertos. Was pretty confident about this one but of course Christmas would be the actual holiday in Mexico. D11

5 : ) Douglas. Surely a gimme for the LL crowd. D00

6 : ) Doctor Who. Simple TV question for a brit. D12

David S Day 2

 3/6 when I was confident I had more, and terrible defense today. Tough start to the season. 

1. Polo :(, D32. What a terrible miss and equally bad defense. I quickly eliminated ice hockey as a possibility because I thought the circles were much smaller. 
2. Punic :), D02. Kind of a confusingly worded question. I figured it wasn’t going to be Carthaginian, and I’d heard the term Punic Wars. 
3. Paratha :(, D10. Ugh. Was pretty confident here. 
4. Navidad ;), D11. Didn’t see any other option. Wasn’t sure it would be correct. 
5. Douglas :), D21. Only gimme of the day for me. 
6. Star Trek :(, D23. No chance here.

 welcome back everyone!  3/6 today when i was confident I had a 5.

1) Lee 0/1  Clues pointed to a black Bronx-based filmmaker in the 80s

2) the birds 1/2  First thing to pop into my mind, never knew what it was about but I knew it was an ancient Greek play, was happy to get it. But nope.

3) where wise men fear to tread 2/2  Had angels, then told myself that makes no sense, must be wise men.  And I felt good about it, too.

4) tamil 3/0  Figured was the capital of Sri Lanka. But no idea what that is.

5) unami 1/1  Figured was a gimme for most, but I usually can't pull it and I'm happy I finally remembered this.  Ah crap, no i didn't.  uMami not uNami.  Guess I have a 2/6 not a 3.

6) Shore 2/3  A gimme for me, i feel like there was a Dinah Shore tournament every weekend growing up.  Surprised this is an annual event.

Brian Day 25 late post for the last day

Needed a few hours to recover from the Mets game to submit my answers, sorry for the delay here.  I tied KatzA yesterday 5(4)-5(4) in LLL giving him the championship. L'shanah tova and enjoy the short offseason!
