1 JoJo. Apparently she is my neighbor here in LA.  My niece is a big fan.  And I remember the old song (I think that JoJo was also my neighbor - from Foxboro MA) and have her old song in my head now, thank you very much.

2. Polka. Thought that was a good guess. and was thinking about Planes Trains and Automobiles.

3. Net Zero. Figured this would be one I knew and it was - though not from this context. Makes sense thouh.

4. Cambodia. Proud for getitng this. Was somehow buried in my head.

5. Elba. Thouht that was also a European river but maybe France?

3/6 and really no chance for more

1) Jojo.  0/3  Unfortunately a gimme.  My daughter went to her concert last summer, and I had to watch her 17 birthday party special on Nickelodeon last year.  But as much as I loathe her, Kid in a Candy Store and Boomerang are quite catchy.

2) Polka.  3/0  I stewed on this all day, and was so happy when polka came to me out of the blue.  Made no sense, but that's what made me feel so clever. So absolutely no chance here

3) critical mass 1/1  Science.

4) the Republic of China.  2/2 Went back and forth between Cambodia and Taiwan.  Ultimately decided this was around when Taiwan got kicked out of the UN and the act might be defense funding for them, even though the mention of US ground troops didn't make much sense.

5)  Rhein. 2/1   I honestly don't even know if the Rhein is in Germany

6) Cheers. 1/2  I went there when it was still Bull & Finch

4/6, and I should be pretty easy to defend here, so I'll be shocked if I get more than 4 points.

1. Gomez :(, D22.  I had no clue.

2. Nocturne :(, D33.  I couldn't imagine that was right, but I had no other guess.  I never would have gotten this.

3. Critical Mass :), D11.  Science gimme.

4. Cambodia :), D01.  I was pretty worried the answer might be Laos, so I was nervous about this one.  But there was no question what the question was about; it was just a matter of choosing the correct one of the two.

5. Main :), D20.  I've been there, and the full name of Frankfurt comes up enough to make this pretty easy.

6. Cheers :), D12.  A gimme for people like me who lived in Boston for 9 years.
