1 :) D0
2 :( D3 Wine
3 :( D1 South Dakota - That's where Sitting Bull is from.
4 :) D1 Mahjong
5 :( D2 Kunduz
6 :( D2 Dagger - I was thinking of the movie/game Cloak and Dagger.

correction - Steiny Day 11

I accidentally put a :) on my answer to #2, but I actually meant to put a :(.

Ben Day 11

1/6.

1 :( SHould have gotten this. I couldn't remember her name and ending up throwing in the towel and guessing Meyer.
2 :( winemaking.
3 :( Arkansas. No idea on this.
4 :) mah-jongg.
5 :( Kandahar. Mirkin's gues of Kunduz is amazing if you look at a map (especially comapred to the rest of our guesses).
6 :( Slingshot. I hadn't heard of the casino, the movie or the Atari game. Had I guessed a famous weapon, maybe this would have been it.

Dave M day 11

Disappointed to get 2/6 today, thought I’d do better with a set of questions on the topics covered.

1 :) The facebook logos gave it away. D1

2 :( Toss up between Art and Literature and I went the wrong way. D2

3 :( Was very confident about South Dakota given the Crazy Horse memorial near Mount Rushmore. D1

4 :) The only Chinese game I know of. D2

5 :( Tough question. I guessed Kunduz. D3 and hopefully my opponent burns his D0 here.

6 :( Went with Sabre. Never heard of the Excalibur casino. D0

I "leaned into" this one. See what I did there?

2. The Prix Renaudot, Prix Goncourt, and Prix Femina are all prizes awarded annually in what field?
Correct Answer: LITERATURE
Your Answer: Wine
Points Assigned: 3

I had no idea.

3. Custer National Cemetery is located within Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, which itself is in Big Horn County, in what state?
Correct Answer: MONTANA
Your Answer: South Dakota
Points Assigned: 2

Darn. I haven't spent much time in the American West.

4. Four Green Dragons, four Red Dragons, four White Dragons, four North Winds, four East Winds, four South Winds, and four West Winds: this "Honor" set of 28 is associated with what game?
Correct Answer: MAH-JONGG
Your Answer: Mah Jong
Points Assigned: 2

I played Mah Jongg on my mac when I was in middle school and remembered seeing red and green dragons on the tiles.

5. Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, the first major Afghan city to fall to the U.S. Special Forces-backed Northern Alliance was what strategically important city in the far northern Balkh province, roughly 200 miles northwest of Kabul?
Correct Answer: MAZAR-I-SHARIF
Your Answer: Anbar
Points Assigned: 1

I had no idea. I knew Anbar was a province in Iraq, and I knew I didn't know the answer to this question.

6. A 1983 strategy game for the Atari 8-bit family; a 1981 film credited with launching (or at least boosting) the film careers of Patrick Stewart, Helen Mirren, Liam Neeson, and others; and a hotel and casino in Las Vegas are all named after what weapon?
Correct Answer: EXCALIBUR
Your Answer: Excaliber
Points Assigned: 0

I have stayed in the Excalibur for a conference two doors down at Mandalay Bay. It was the only casino I could think of that is a weapon and it sounds like a good concept for an atari game and  Patrick Stewart movie which I have never seen.
