Brian Day 20 vs Pelco

5/6  Easiest day of the season for me, five gimmes puts me in a good mood for the long weekend.  Happy new year to those who celebrate, and if you're observant, don't forget to request advance access to complete next week's questions before Monday night.

1) Fergie 2/0 will.i.am = Black Eyed Peas.  Was a little worried I'd need her real name, but mostly confident Fergie would pay

2) Seurat 3/2  I asked a Ferris Bueller related question about this in my Children of the 80s one-day

3) Iditarod 1/2 Faithful = dogs

4) Omaha 0/1 Normandy Beach

5) Indonesia 1/1 I was shocked years ago when I found out its population

6) Perspective 2/3 no clue

David S Day 20

5/6.

1. Stefani :(, D11. No idea.

2. Seurat :), D33. Gimme for me despite art being a weak category. I’ve been very familiar with this painting for decades. But the question could easily play hard given how cryptically it’s written.

3. Iditarod :), D21. Happy to get this. “Faithful team” made this the best guess. Still was very unsure.

4. Omaha :), D02. Normandy beach landing zones. Gimme for me.

5. Indonesia :), D10. No doubt here, though I suspect Pakistan will be a very common wrong answer.

6. Mood :), D22. Another answer straight from high school French class. I’ve gotten several from it this season.

2 : ) Auto da Fe. I read a Mexican history book once and these appeared regularly. D12

3 : ) Trevor Noah. I remember being amazed that they picked a South African to host the show. D20

4 : ) Atacama. Geography gimme. D01

5 : ) Click. Happy to get this. Assumed there would be a formal name and not just what the consonants sound like. Couldn’t think of anything so just stuck to click. D33

Correct Answer: SABLE
Your Answer: Mink
Points Assigned: 2

David S Day 19

4/6.

1. Nicole :), D00. Would have been shocking if this didn’t refer to Nicole Simpson.

2. Auto da fe :), D11. Not sure how hard this is. Maybe I went too low on the D.

3. Noah:), D33. I remembered hearing that Trevor Noah was South African. But I wasn’t super confident this would be correct.

4. Atacama :), D11. Solid geography question.

5. Hybrid :(, D22. Very gettable. Not sure why this never occurred to me.

6. Mink :(, D22. No chance here. Didn’t know sable was any kind of animal other than a fish.

3) Ethiopia 1/2 didn’t think it would be the same country Kilimanjaro is in. P.S. Kilimanjaro is not in Kenya
