2) Pale 1/1 Got this from On A Pale Horse by Piers Anthony (Ben Carr, you with me on this ? )
3) Pittsburgh Pirates 3/3 Both are gimmes for me, Hank Aaron and the Braves in '57, and the '60 Series is best known for Mazeroski's walk off home run in game 7. The 1960 Series was used to teach me about the electoral college, as the Yankees scored twice as many runs (popular vote) as the Pirates but lost 4 games to 3.
4) Waterloo 2/1 Excellently clued question. Belgium + Wellington (+ Battle as a bonus) = Waterloo (David S, this is a much worse miss than Teddy R's birth year)

6) The Weeknd 1/2 There was a review of The Idol a few months ago titled along the lines of "Has Anyone Involved With "The Idol" Ever Had Sex?". Which piqued my curiosity enough to read the first pararaph of the article. (wow Dave! This almost makes up for Waterloo, you certainly screwed up your opponents defense.)
